How to Get Your Ex Boyfriend Back Without Driving Him Away

Sometimes, you want to get your ex boyfriend back, but you risk driving him away. If you aren’t careful, you might find that you do, in fact, drive him away. Getting an ex boyfriend back is sort of a delicate balancing act that you have to really careful with. Not to worry, though, when you follow a few tips, you will find that you can actually get your boyfriend back and he will be more in love with you than ever before.

You want to ask yourself a couple of questions before you even get started trying to get your ex boyfriend back. For instance, what caused you to break up? If it was small and you blew it out of proportion, then you need to rethink your position on the matter. Is there any way that you can fix the issue without needing to change much (i.e. agree to disagree)?

Much of the time, you might find that you wound up breaking up over something that really didn’t matter all that much, however, if you feel like the reason that you broke up is a big one, then you should probably just move on. You need to know, though, that when your breakup “issue” continues to surface again and again, you’re only going to manage to drive your ex boyfriend away for good.

Start by Accepting

Ladies, as tough as this is, if you are trying to get your ex boyfriend back, you need to occasionally accept the fact that this guy isn’t perfect. None of them are. So, once in a while, you are going to have to just deal with his dirty socks if you really want to be with him. Guys do not want to be changed, so don’t try. Eventually, you will find that your guy evolves into something more than what he is now, but for now, he is who he is and you need to accept that.

Then Apologize

Tell your ex boyfriend that you have had some time to do some soul searching and that you really feel badly for trying to change him or the issue you two had. Sometimes, we have to admit when we take things out of control. Don’t go on to say, “but I wish…” or “you just….” Simply explain that you overreacted to the situation and you behaved badly. Let him know that you still love him and that you really would like to make it up to him, but if he’s not interested, it’s okay.

Back Off

If you still have stuff at his place, or you were living together, leave some of your things behind, but then back off. Give your ex boyfriend some time to think things over. You can even tell him that you’re going to leave him alone for a while, but that he can call you when and if he is ready to. Tell him you’ll be there, but then leave it alone.

This is tough when you want to get your ex boyfriend back, because you might not talk to him for a while, maybe even a week or so, but if you want to get him back, this is one of the best ways to do it. You can give him time to think, while leaving your things around him as a reminder of you. He will call, one way or the other.

Most of all, you need to know when it’s time to say good bye. If he was mean to you, then you don’t need to get your ex boyfriend back. If you think that your differences are too much, then you should make sure to really think about if you want to get back with your ex boyfriend in the first place. However, if you are trying to get your ex boyfriend back without driving him away, you should follow a few steps to make sure that you get your guy, and happiness, back.
