Christian Dating Beliefs
Christian dating today refers to meeting people from the Christian community in order to have a common religious ground in view of a serious relationship that ends in marriage. While the modern tendency is to open to inter-confessional marriages, there are groups within communities that prefer to maintain tradition. Interracial and inter-ethnic love relationships are still not approved by members of the various cultures, sometimes causing all sorts of frictions with family and friends. Despite such difficulties, the 21st century is less pestered by racial and religious prejudices as compared to previous history ages.
The idea of Christian dating has been taken over by dating services both online and offline, due to the need to offer a first common point of interaction to anonymous men and women who want to get into friendship and love relationships. By Christian one implies a life led up to high moral norms, or to put it otherwise, in online dating, Christian sounds ‘safer’. But is it truly safe, or has this word gone so meaningless that everybody uses it liberally?
More than once the safety myth of Christian dating has been debunked. Take for instance your dating history. If you are a Christian, I’m sure you must have been on dates with other people, and some of them must have been Christian too. Was Christianity making them any better, or was it just a tag attached to them? Hardly anybody still lives like a traditional Christian these days. By Christian I don’t imply just being baptized into this faith and going to church every Sunday.
It’s almost impossible to even sum up what being a Christian means. Some will say ‘charitable’, others ‘pious’, ‘modest’ or ‘devout’. But aren’t these attributes, human features that also apply to Muslims, Jews and Buddhists too? Therefore, I find the very idea of Christian dating strange and funny to a certain extent because it’s empty of meaning and totally irrelevant for life quality. Being born in the Christian religion does not make one better.
Moral values, love, patience, respect, good will, honesty and all the other great virtues grow in a person as part of his/her personal evolution. These are not inherent to Christianity, yet they make the kind of qualities to look for in the next person to date. Searching for a friend or your soul mate by labels can’t possibly help in the process. It takes more than being a Christian (by name) to have a happy life…
Tips and Things To Do On A Date
Everybody searches for things to do on a date at least every now and then. The movie and dinner kind of date is considered by so many people too traditional and boring to a certain extent. Sitting next to someone while watching a movie does not tell you much about who he/she is or what she likes. More and more people try to change the dullness of the dating pattern and venture into all sorts of activities together with their date. Some go watch football or baseball games, others go scuba diving, cooking or bowling.
You can be as creative as you like, although sometimes it’s a bit more difficult to try unusual stuff on a first date. The things to do on a date actually help you and your date to open up and reveal personal aspects. Knowing what the other likes or dislikes makes it easier to plan your next dates in a more fanciful or interesting way. Therefore, if you really like your date, you have to give her/him the chance to let you in his/her private world to the point where you learn about likes and dislikes.
You definitely can’t go scuba diving with someone who can’t swim. A private swimming class would be a much better idea here. There are wonderful ideas of thing to do on a date exemplified online. You can pretty much find anything you need on the Internet: why not do a bit of research then and find out how to make the most of a date? People too often choose based only on their personal preferences, automatically assuming that the other will be thrilled about it.
Extreme sports or carting, for example, do not suit the taste of any man or woman. The things to do on a date have to correspond to a common set of interests that you share. If you love cliff hanging, but your date is afraid of heights, chances are you won’t be able to get into this kind of activity together. In fact, not sharing common interests sometimes leads nowhere as you have little to build a relationship on.
Choose carefully the things to do on a date because they definitely shape the future of a relationship. Getting a good start together is pretty much like learning how to drive or like how to ride a bike, but this usually works out if there is a match between the two people involved.
