Are You In The Right Relationship?
How Do You Ever Know If You Have The Perfect Relationship?
Do you know of anyone with a perfect relationship? I must say, I am one of the lucky ones, but I have been one of those hopeless romantics in my dating days, when I wondered if there really was such a thing as a perfect relationship.
Unfortunately for the norm, even the best couples have their bad days, which is perfectly fine. So your goal should not be to find the perfect relationship, but to make sure that you end up in the right relationship with the best person for you.
So how can you tell whether you are already in the right relationship? It’s not really that hard. You begin by asking yourself, am I happy? If you are happy with the relationship, and if you are happy when you are with your partner, then you’re off to a good start.
Can You Say You Have A Happy Relationship?
Again, you don’t need to be happy all the time with someone in order to say you’ve found the right person. If you are happy most of the time, then the relationship works for you.
The next step is to examine your doubts about the relationship, if you have any. Is it because there is something lacking that you need? Is it because there is someone else that you are more interested in having a relationship with?
Constant doubt about your relationship or your partner may indicate that you are not in the right relationship at this time, but if the doubts are just in passing, then you shouldn’t put too much focus on them.
Do You Feel Safe and Secure
Another question you should ask is, am I safe? It really is surprising how many people, women in particular, stay in a relationship where their partner is physically or emotionally abusive. If your partner hurts you in anyway, it doesn’t matter how many times they say they love you or they’re sorry — you are obviously not in the right relationship and should get out as soon as you can.
A cheating partner, or doubts about whether or not your partner is cheating, is another indication that you are not in the correct relationship. You begin to feel not so secure in your future.
There Is Trust In The Right Relationship
Trust is very important in a relationship and in this case, there is no trust at all if one is constantly cheating and the other is constantly suspicious.
Now, there is also the question of unfounded suspicions about cheating. Do you know for sure that your partner is cheating, or are these doubts just a product of your own insecurities? You have to figure out the answers to these questions if you want to make sure that you are in the right relationship.
Finally, you should ask yourself, does my partner make me feel special? Relationships are supposed to be a give and take thing. If you feel that you are making all the effort to make the relationship work, then maybe it’s not really worth it.
